HOUR TWENTY FOUR B

We! Totally! Did! It!

Actually, we probably all went to bed.  But we got a ton done.  So go us.

MUSIC: I'm obsessed with this cover... so it's a treat for getting to the end.  This is what got me obsessed with all the versions of this song.

FUNNY:
You made it.

QUOTE:
...and so, unfortunately, we must all wake up in the morning and write some more.  Anybody awake when this posted?  What are the final word counts for everybody?

HOUR TWENTY FOUR A

THIS IS THE LAST HOUR.  DON'T GIVE UP NOW!!!  YOU. CAN. DO. IT. (And I better be doing it still, too.)

MUSIC:

QUOTE:

That last one is an unfortunate reality of the world that I am forced to learn over and over again.  I am so fascinated by life that I don't want to miss anything, but I must pick a few to focus on or else I will miss being good at anything.

HOUR TWENTY THREE

Two more hours.  The end is so close I can taste it.  Or probably I should just brush my teeth.  Keep nanoing.  Keep writing.

MUSIC:
A very different cover.  But she does do what a good cover does.  Namely, make it her own.

QUOTE:

I talked about this earlier, but this moment needs to be in every hero's journey.  In order for it to be fulfilling, there has to be a point where we believe the hero has failed.  And then they realize this.

I'm amending this quote tho... At any given moment you have the power to say this is NOT the time I am going to go to bed.  Keep writing.

HOUR TWENTY TWO

The rest of these songs are ones I love to sing along to.  Because singing generally keeps me awake.  It's also something I do constantly... which may explain my insomnia.

If I could take any quote as my own, it would be this one by Audrey Hepburn.  I have never agreed with someone so enthusiastically on this point.  And I think it is incredibly important in writing, too.  Harry Potter's tension works (both in the movies and the books) because of it's ability to make us laugh.  Laughing releases the tensions so we can build it up even farther without breaking our audience.  Its importance is obvious for comedy (I mean, really), but I would argue that it is every bit as important in a drama.
What do you think is the most important element of story telling?

HOUR TWENTY ONE

Only four more hours left.  We can do this.  We are totally going to do this!

This quote just reminded me of the break into act three.  And it's Dr. Seuss.  And everyone knows he's a genius.

HOUR TWENTY

I totally, truly, almost missed this hour!  I caught it while adding music!  Now I need to go find something funny and you (and future me) need to go write!

MUSIC:

FUNNY:

QUOTE:

This is the hour I quit on last time!  Don't quit!

You'll notice that there are a WHOLE lot less quotes here.... that is because I used them all up when I skipped this post.  I'm great like that.  But that quote up there is perfect.  So do something you've never done!

HOUR NINETEEN

(Stupid daylight savings didn't want to post this!  Fixing now!)

Oh man!  Three quarters done.  We can do this.  Keep going!!!!

MUSIC:

FUNNY:

QUOTE:

Now, after those three very random posts... a question.  The following image... Romantic or creepy?  Comforting or terrifying?

HOUR EIGHTEEN

How's everyone doing?  The end of this hour marks the three quarters way point.  It's not that much more effort to just keep going!!!

QUOTE:

Can you tell that I love Harry Potter?  However... I digress.  Tomorrow the sun will rise and we will be victorious in our nanoveling.  Go us.  In addition to Harry Potter and all related characters and fandom, etc, I also like Adele.  Not on the same level, obviously, but she's good.  And I love this line.  This is how you write dialog.  Seriously.  People are all liars and/or hypocrites, myself included.  That's why I'm interesting as a human being.

HOUR SEVENTEEN

I went as Ke$ha for Halloween.  She is fun.  And wakeful.  This cover might not be, but I have a thing for strings.

MUSIC:

FUNNY:

QUOTE:

It's idea like these that make me want to write in the first place.  The human condition, how we form and maintain relationships.  It's fascinating.
What makes you want to write?

HOUR SIXTEEN

After this, the music is going to get weird to keep me awake.  Just a warning.  This is probably the last normal song... except the Pumped Up Kicks covers.

This one is my life motto.

How have words affected you?  Why do you want to write?
